MEPHISTOPHELES VICTOR ANIMATOGRAPH HAND-TINTED GLASS SLIDE, 1915.
This wonderful 1915 vintage glass slide was manufactured by Victor Animatograh Co, Patent dated Oct. 5, 1915.  It is titled “Mephistopheles”, slide no. 3 in the Lecture “Equality”, Hillis “Better America” Series.  The black and white photo is hand-tinted and features the devil is all his redness standing before an old gentleman who is seated at the table in his kitchen.  We’ve never seen another like this one—many Animatograph glass slides are scenic—either attractions from cities or country/nature pictures. 
The slide measures approx. 4” x 3 ¼”.
CONDITION:
The slide is in remarkable condition.  There are a few minor streaks to one side of the glass that do not effect the photo.  The cardboard frame is in fine condition with no damage and all printing clear.
