VOLLAND STYLE RAGGEDY ANN & ANDY CHINA BOWL & PLATE, 1940's-50's.
This
set is a fabulous, very hard to find, matching china cereal bowl & plate, featuring
a color image of an early style RAGGEDY ANN & ANDY.
The CEREAL BOWL measures
approx. 2 ½"H x 6"W at the slightly flared rim. The colorful image of RAGGEDY
ANN & ANDY measures approx. 3" square, with the pair arm in arm. The illustration
is reminiscent of a Volland or Mollye design, rather than the later Knickerbocker
style. ANDY is wearing his trademark blue overalls, with a pale pink & white
checked shirt. ANN has a pink floral pattern on white dress, with a sunny yellow
apron & pantaloons. The way the dolls are colored is unusual, with ANDY having
blond yarn hair, & ANN with light brown instead of the trademark red yarn. Also,
ANDY has pink & yellow striped legs, instead of the usual red & white. The
bowl is marked on the bottom "TST MADE IN U.S.A.", with "TST"
the mark from the well-known manufacturer Taylor Smith Taylor (the company which
produced Luray China).
The PLATE measures approx. 8 ½" across, with the image
of ANN & ANDY measuring 5"W x 6"H. Each is wearing the same outfit,
but ANDY is now seated with ANN bent slightly over him. This piece is stamped on
the back "Made in U.S.A."
CONDITION:
Both of these items are in excellent
condition with NO chips, cracks, or hairlines. There are NO stains or crazing, although
there are some surface scratches to the glaze on both. This does NOT detract from
the appearance, as both pieces are bright & beautiful!

FIGURAL CLOTHING PEGS WALL RACK, 1972.
SOLD
RARE VERSION STUFFED RAGGEDY ANN DOLL 14".
This is a 14",

4 black buttons at the waist.
There is no manufacturer information or date that
can be seen. However, the style of the dress & facial features leads us to believe
that this was produced either by Knickerbocker or at the same time as Knickerbocker
was producing the Raggedy Ann dolls. Circa late 1960's to the 70s.

MAGIC HAIR CRISSY DOLL IN ORIGINAL OUTFIT WITH 2 HAIR PIECES, 1977.
Released in 1977, this Crissy doll is "Magic
Hair". She is quite a departure from earlier Crissy dolls. She does
not come with "Grow Hair", but with individual hair pieces that stick to her
head with Velcro. Crissy wears her
original white camisole top with white silk flower and satin spaghetti straps,
pink satin skirt with embroidered lace boarder, white nylon panties, and white
slide-on mules. She comes with two of her original hair pieces: a long
fall (reminiscent of the Grow Hair tails) and sausage curl pigtails.
CONDITION:
The doll is in
excellent condition--appears fresh out of the box. All her
fingers are there and her hair has not been cut or trimmed--no missing plugs in the foundation
hair. No rubs to the facial paint. The long fall of hair is in good
condition, long and silky, but there is slight discoloration to the plastic
"Crissy clip" that attaches the hair to the head. The sausage curls have
retained their shape, but are a little droopy. There is a sticker/tape
stain on the back of the skirt--mot likely from where it was attached to the box
insert, and a seam separation on the back of the camisole. The elastic is
stretched out in the camisole.
