"GO-GO COCO" SIDE-PONYTAIL TALKING BARBIE DOLL in SHIRTDRESSY, TALKS! 1967.
Wonderful example of a "Go-go Coco" hair color Side-Ponytail talking Barbie!

Barbie has been professionally repaired to talk.  She says all six of her phrases (although the first one phrase has a bit of static) :
   1. Would you like to go shopping?
   2. Let's have a costume party.
   3. Stacey and I are having a tea.
   4. What shall I wear to the prom?
   5. I love being a fashion model.
   6. I have a date tonight.
Barbie comes with the original Barbie Fashion called "Shirtdressy".  This consists of a yellow stain sleeveless dress, a sheer, long-sleeved overdress, and sparkly thigh-high stockings.  The yellow "squishy" flats are Mattel issue, marked "Japan" on the soles, but don't come with this dress (supposed to come with yellow "pilgrim" or "chunky" shoes).  Replaced yellow ribbons are tied in bows in her hair.  The hair is in the original style.  The doll was made in Mexico.
CONDITION:
This is a stunning version of Talking Barbie!  There are no earring holes.  The facial paint is bright and vivid—just one rub to the lower lip color.  The sides of the torso were opened during the repair, but was nicely resealed.  No green ear or neck splits.  Her left leg clicks and holds 2 positions, her right leg clicks 4 times, but holds for three.  Legs are not "swingy".  Hair is shiny and in the original set with just a fly-away here and there in the ponytail.
The Shirtdressy outfit is in very fine condition, but has a few flaws: There is a seam separation in the sheer dress under her left arm.  The pearl button was replaced on the back of the sheer dress.  One strap was repaired on the satin dress.  There are tears in the stockings (at the top only), and the elastic has dried out and is loose.
Don't take our word for it... Hear Barbie speak for yourself!  If you would like to have an idea of what she sounds like, click on the sound box below.  We have recorded some of her phrases.   If it sounds low, please adjust your speakers.  Here's what you'll hear:
"I love being a fashion model." (Has a bit of static)
"Stacey and I are having a tea."
"Would you like to go shopping?"
"What should I wear to the Prom?"

HIGH COLOR TALKING CHRISTIE in CITY SPARKLER with WRIST-TAG, TALKS! 1968.
Wonderful example of a 1st issue non-oxidizing hair talking Christie doll!
Christie has been professionally repaired to talk.  She says all six of her phrases:

1. Hi! I’m called Christie.
2. I love to try on clothes.
3. Let’s visit Barbie & Stacey.
4. Let’s go shopping with Barbie.
5. Shall I change my Hairstyle?
6. I’d like to be a Fashion Model.

Christie comes with the original Barbie Fashion called "City Sparkler"; a green metallic thread mini dress with crepe skirt; marked with the black/whit stitched Barbie tag.  Her original rose-colored panties are included under the dress.  A pair of green square-toe shoes are on her feet (these are marked "Hong Kong").  The hair is stunning in the original style--not oxidizing into red, which is rare with Christie and Julia of this time period.  The hair is full with no missing or thin plugs.  The rooted eyelashes are excellent--full and straight.  Her facial paint is very vibrant with no rubs or fading.  No earring holes or green ear. The doll was made in Mexico.
CONDITION:
This is a stunning version of Talking Christie!  The sides of the torso were opened during the repair, and was resealed.  There are some melt marks on the torso.  No green ear or neck splits.  Rooted eyelashes are full and intact.  Both legs click and hold 3 positions, but the right leg is softer than the left and will sometimes pop down to 2 positions, and legs are not "swingy".  Hair is shiny  with beautiful golden highlights.
The City Sparkler outfit is in fair condition with flaws: The two "pearl" buttons were replaced on the front of the dress.  There are some pulls to the metallic bodice and stains and a hole or two on the back of the crepe skirt.  The original rose-colored panties have some stains.  The shoes are fine, with no splits.
The wrist-tag has been ripped off and we reattached it for display purposes.  There are tears on either side of the tag and the original wrist band is taped back together on the underside of the tag.

Julia:

DIAHANN CARROLL TALKING JULIA DOLL, RARE CHRISTIE HEAD! MIB 1969.
SOLD

TALKING JULIA IN JUMPSUIT & SHOES, TALKS CLEARLY!!
SOLD

DIAHANN CARROLL TALKING JULIA DOLL IN ORIGINAL JUMPSUIT, 1969.
This is the JULIA doll, based on the Diahann Carroll series of the same name.
The doll, manufactured by Mattel and copyright dated 1968, is the original version of JULIA with straight blunt-cut hair that has oxidized to red over the years.
JULIA comes with her original silver and gold metallic jumpsuit and brown Open-Toe mules.
JULIA
has been professionally repaired to talk and she says all of the following phrases LOUD and CLEAR!

  1. Hi, my name is Julia!
  2. Would you like to be an actress?
  3. What shall I wear on my show?
  4. We sure have a lot of fun.
  5. Nursing is great fun.
  6. I love the new dress styles.
Click HERE and HERE to hear two samples of how well Julia speaks!
CONDITION:

JULIA is in good condition.  There are repairs to the seams where she was opened for repair.  The hair appears to be all original with no cuts.  There was a factory flaw in the manufacture of one leg, which prevents it from attaching firmly to the torso (there is no space for the lip of the joint to click into place inside the hip portion of the leg).  We have attempted to reattach her leg, but this flaw prevents the leg from remaining firmly in place.  Rather than gluing it so it cannot be moved, we recommend keeping pants or underwear on her at all times.  The lashes on one side are a little bent.
The jumpsuit has a few "fly-away" threads, mostly on the back of the bodice.
Shipping weight estimated at 2 lbs from zip code 08048.

P.J.:

Click on photo to see a full view of the doll!
TWIST 'n TURN PJ DOLL, ORIGINAL OUTFIT, SUNGLASSES, PILGRIM "CHUNKY" SHOES, WRIST-TAG, and X-STAND, 1970.
In 1970, Mattel introduced Barbie's best friend PJ.  This is what we believe to be a later, transitional period version of Twist 'n Turn P.J.  She comes on a "Made in Taiwan" body, her hot pink pilgrim shoes are marked "Taiwan", her wrist-tag is marked "Made in Taiwan", and the "X-Stand" is also marked "Taiwan".  The beads around her hair are also a little different from earlier versions of TnT P.J.; they are in jewel-tones--not just red, yellow, turquoise, and green--and they are on a golden wire rather than being strung.
PJ comes with her original pink nylon bathing suit with pink crocheted lace skirt, pink "bubble" sunglasses (these are marked "Japan"), shoes, wrist-tag, and X-Stand.
CONDITION:
It appears almost as if P.J. was taken out of the box and not played with, but she does have a few minor issues.  There are two ink marks on her neck, at the base of where her head meets the body.
She has a single earring hole on each side of her head, with a tiny bit of fading around the holes.  Her hair is excellent!  Long and silky--uncut and in the original factory set.  Each leg clicks and holds three positions--the clicks are loud and firm.  The rooted eyelashes are all there and in very fine condition.  Her facial paint looks to be fine--no fading or rubs to the eyebrows or lips.  No nose nips.
The bathing suit is in super condition, but has a loose thread here and there.  No damage to the crocheted skirt.
The wrist tag had been removed by tearing the front of the tag from the portion that wraps around the wrist.  We glued it back into place, but there is still the tear there.
The glasses have been removed from the head, but as mentioned are included.
The shoes are in fine condition--Mattel issue.
The X-Stand is very nice, but has a "scar" on the tip of one edge at the top of the stand--not broken, just a few lines there.
Shipping weight estimated at 2 lbs from zip code 08048.
Additional photos available, please inquire.
Price $75.00
